Canada: An Ahmadi girl stabbed, attacker girl arrested

A 28-year-old woman is facing an attempted murder charge after a stabbing in the Brampton area of Canada.

On Monday, two women, who are not known to each other, were at the same store in the area of Kennedy Road and Queen Street at around 2 a.m, according to Peel police. The police have not disclosed the identity of the victim.

It is alleged that the suspect approached the woman in her 20’s and stabbed her, police said. Some people closed to the family circle of the victim said she is an Ahmadi.

The victim was transported to a trauma centre with life-threatening injuries. Police said her condition has since stabilized and her injuries are now considered non-life threatening.

The suspect was located inside the store and was taken into custody.

On Tuesday, police said Brampton resident Neha Sharma has been charged with attempted murder.

  1. Was this a religiously motivated attack? The article doesn’t seem to suggest that so wondering why the girls faith was mentioned. Just curious as it is not typical to see a person’s religious affiliation mentioned unless it was a known hate crime.
